DEVOTION TO A CAUSE

Screen shot 2015-07-03 at 6.56.57 PMOver the past couple of months we have witnessed some landmark rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court. From the Affordable Care Act to marriage equality to lethal injection as a legal method of execution, people around the country celebrated the fruition of causes they are devoted to—causes that often divide our nation along religious or political lines.

PROMOTING THE POWER OF VIRTUES

All of us at The “V” Channel are devoted to promoting the power of virtues. We celebrate that virtues are being appreciated and understood beyond the domain of religion and politics; that these positive qualities of character are common to all people of all ethnicities and beliefs.

Pick a passage in any spiritual writing, listen to a coach’s motivational speech, or research a corporation’s mission statement, chances are it is build around virtues; Courtesy, Confidence, Determination, Forgiveness, Excellence, Love, Respect and Trustworthiness, to name just a few.

VIRTUES AREN’T ABOUT BEING PERFECT

VPIA_Logo-whiteEvery moment of every day we have a choice to either practice virtues, or not. If we brush our teeth we are practicing Cleanliness. If we choose to hold open a door for someone we are practicing Kindness and Consideration, making our world a slightly better place. If we don’t hold the door open or brush our teeth it doesn’t mean we are bad people (we may, however, have bad breath!)

LET’S TEACH OUR CHILDREN GOODNESS

If we want our children to be good we must teach them what goodness is. It all begins with the what, why and how of virtues—actionable ways to rise above the negative temptations and influences in life, or to simply pause and acknowledge the positives in each day.

I created The “V” Channel with the goal of giving parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and even school bus drivers, simple and creative ways to teach kids the Virtues from “A” to “Z”.

Flashing the V_shadow

For the past three years I have been producing content and building a presentation website to demonstrate The “V” Channel’s concept and potential. Now I must shift my attention to raising money. Over the next six months I will be reaching out to corporate sponsors and charitable foundations for funding. The goal is to build a success story during 2016 and launch The “V” Channel on a global scale in 2017. Review our proposal to sponsors >

I’m 100% committed to The “V” Channel. Last year I devoted over 1,250 hours to the project while working a full-time job. Fortunately, I am not alone on this journey. Here’s a shout-out of gratitude to Wendy, Hoyt, Stefan, Marc, Richard, Frank, Marcelo and Dara for all their support. And I must acknowledge all the wonderful people dedicating their time to The Virtues Project, a global grassroots initiative to inspire the practice of virtues in everyday life.

The “V” Channel is also partnering with Tiffany Shlain & The Moxie Institute Film Studio to celebrate Character Day on September 18, 2015.

Character_Day_banner_logoCharacter Day launched last year with the global premiere of the film “The Science of Character” and a global online Q&A with experts in the field of character development. Over 1500 schools and organizations participated.

This year they will premiere two new films, along with new discussion materials to spark a robust global conversation around “character” from different perspectives — science, education, philosophy, and more. Everyone is invited, whether you’re part of a school, university, nonprofit, family, company, corporation, or any other group.

THANKFULNESS TO THE MAX!

The
The “V” Channel is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

I am very thankful to the over two dozen generous souls who made tax-deductible donations last year to help pay for some of The “V” Channel’s basic operating expenses. However, there are new expenses every month. For example, we need to raise $784 to pay attorney fees for our 2014 tax return. Please consider making a tax-deductible to The “V” Channel >

I sincerely appreciate your connection to The “V” Channel, and I thank you for your generosity of time to read this post. By doing so, you are promoting the power of virtues, a cause worthy of everyone’s devotion!

With much love,
