STUDENT FILMMAKER PROJECT
The Student Filmmaker Project was conceived to help film, media and drama students develop their craft while producing positive and meaningful videos based on virtues.
- “V” Videos are modern day morality tales for the YouTube generation
- 2-5 minute digital shorts based on the what, why and how of virtues
- Variety of genres: drama, comedy, documentary, musical and animation
A select group of student filmmakers will receive our Proprietary Production Brief to guide them through the creative development process; from character and story ideation to writing final scripts that express how choosing virtues results in positive life experiences.
EXPLORING TEEN LIFE AND VIRTUES.
LIGHTS… CAMERA… “V” VIDEOS!
Approved “V” Video scripts are green-lighted to receive a production budget between $500-$5,000. Budgets are commensurate with director’s experience and are based on estimated production costs.
In addition to featuring student “V” Videos on The V Channel’s website, YouTube channel, and social networking services, we will partner with a top digital marketing agency to distribute student videos and a PR agency to build national awareness of the project.
STUDENT “V” VIDEO EXAMPLES:
A high school senior learns patience with the help of her violin.
A young man loses his temper resulting in tragic consequences.
Sisters set aside their digital devices and experience nature.
“V” VIDEOS IN THE CLASSROOM.
School screenings, reviews and classroom discussions of “V” Videos offer youth-to-youth forums that give students a unique way to focus attention on what is good in an often hostile and competitive world.
SEND US YOUR BEST WORK.
For more information, questions, or to make a submission, email us at students@theVchannel.com. All submissions will be reviewed by industry professionals. Selection criteria are based on quality, originality and level of students’ filmmaking abilities; writing, directing, acting, editing, musical score and sound mix.
STAY TUNED TO THE “V” CHANNEL
As we raise additional funding we’ll produce new content and improve our website. Our goal is to build a world-class online destination and social media network dedicated to inspiring the practice of virtues.
Special thanks to The Family Virtues Guide, by Linda Kavelin Popov with Dr. Dan Popov Ph.D., and John Kavelin, and The Virtues Project, a global grassroots initiative to inspire the practice of virtues in everyday life.
