THE BATTLE TO RAISE GOOD KIDS

Mass-Media-tv

It’s always been difficult raising good kids. And in today’s Digital Age, it’s even more of a challenge. Our children are being bombarded with massive amounts of media, much of it negative, violent and mean-spirited.

Parents and teachers are concerned about the negative effects media has on their children’s character development.

Child-rearing experts recommend limiting screen time, using internet filter software and teaching media literacy, but short of extreme censorship laws, we will never be able to completely shield our kids from toxic media:

  • Violence and death
  • Casual sex and pornography
  • Fake reality shows
  • False advertising
  • Social media haters, cyber bullies and extremists
  • Infotainment news shows blurring the line between fact and fiction
  • Rap music lyrics glorifying crime and misogyny

At times it seems like parents are in a losing battle. But we must never give up! We must never surrender and leave our children alone against the overwhelming barrage of toxic media.

“VICTORY VIA VIRTUES!”

The “V” Channel is launching a counter attack to inspire a virtues revolution.  We’re raising money to fund an all-out campaign to produce positive, uplifting and inspiring ‘edutainment’ based on the what, why and how of virtues. From “Assertiveness” to “Zeal”, our goal is to make award winning “V” Videos that parents and teachers can share with children, enabling meaningful conversations that inspire kids to choose goodness:

  • Tell the truth and stand up for justice
  • Give love and attention to the people that matter to them
  • Listen with compassion and help with kindness
  • Trust that they have the strength to cope with whatever happens in life
  • Do what it takes to attain personal goals and accomplishments

RALLYING THE TROOPS FOR TOTAL ENGAGEMENT

The “V” Channel will reach out to Primary Caregivers as the first point of contact with kids, teens and young adults. It’s also going to take Star Power to win over the hearts and minds of our children.

TAKING A STAND AGAINST BLAME, SHAME AND FEAR

"no" blame, shame, fear.v2Raising good kids is the most important task on the planet, yet very few of us are properly trained. Most of us just use the same old ‘blame, shame and fear’ approach as our parents did, or we learn by trial and error, which can have adverse effects on our children.

The “V” Channel stands against ‘BS&F’. Instead, we advocate The Five Strategies of The Virtues Project(TM), surprisingly simple yet highly effective ways to bring out the very best in our children.

THE FUTURE

Our goal is to build a world-class online destination and social media network offering ‘edutainment’ in a wide variety of interest categories for viewing at home, in school, and on mobile devices.
