HOW TO BRING OUT THE SUPERHERO IN OUR KIDS

Superheroes arouse the imagination and inspire kids. But can our children actually learn from them? Can they develop skills, talents and powers and then use them in the real world? Yes, if they are encouraged to search beneath the surface of the characters’ fantastic attributes to the real reason they are super; true strength comes from practicing virtues—universal qualities of character.

A SUPER EFFORT FOR A SUPER CAUSE

The “V” Channel was created to bring out the best in young people (and adults!) by making them aware of virtuesWith the help of parents, guardians, mentors and educators, our mission is show kids how to practice virtues, empowering them to make choices that will have a positive effect in their life and on the world.

TURNING KIDS INTO REAL-LIFE ACTION FIGURES

In cooperation with The Virtues Project, The “V” Channel is sharing the What, Why and How of over 52 virtues—Actionable ways for kids to be the best that they can be!

IF NOT FOR SOCIETY, FOR THEMSELVES!

Kids love to play the villain, but in their hearts, they all want to be good. But who’s to say what “good” is? Unlike values that may vary from person to person or family to family, virtues are “universal qualities of character”. Virtues lay a foundation of “goodness” regardless of a person’s background or upbringing. So no matter what their aspirations may be, whether they desire outstanding grades or athletic accomplishments in school, whether they have artistic ambitions, want a career in politics or dream of fame and fortune as a movie or pop star, virtues help young people achieve their goals, and more importantly, virtues help them to truly enjoy their accomplishments—long after the fleeting moments of fame and fortune have passed.

BE A SUPERHERO’S SIDEKICK

In addition to watching original “V” Videos with their kids, parents and caregivers can provide a positive influence by learning the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project—simple, easy to understand guidance based on The Virtues Project approach to parenting.

The Five Strategies of The Virtues Project are the “how-to’s” and apply as much to one’s own personal development as they do to being a parent. The strategies are:

  • Speak the Language of the Virtues
  • Recognize Teachable Moments
  • Set Clear Boundaries
  • Honor the Spirit
  • Offer Companionship

SUPERHEROES AREN’T BORN. THEY ARE MADE.

Day after day, week after week, year after year, the results of raising virtuous children will be a generation that takes personal responsibility for their behavior. They will be real superheroes!
