Our kids face many choices in life. As they get older the choices become more complex and the consequences more severe. Left alone without guidance, too many young people find out some choices aren’t very sweet, and that the bitter taste of making the wrong choice can last a lifetime.
WE’VE GOTTA BE CREATIVE
The “V” Channel is constantly brainstorming ideas, searching for creative ways to engage and inspire young people. Our latest concept is for an app with dozens of ‘Life’s Choices’ text messages to choose from. It’s a unique way for parents to teach their kids the what, why & how of virtues.
A FEW EXAMPLES:
Some kids choose to be hard-headed and stubborn as a rock. That’s the time to text them The What, Why & How of Flexibility >
How can our kids stop bullying? They can say to the child who is bullying, “Stop it. It’s not right!” And they can stand by the child who is being bullied, letting them know, “I am here for you.” Help them by texting The What, Why & How of Courage >
Everyone wants to leave their mark on the world. However, some kids have never received guidance on how to do it in a positive and meaningful way. The What, Why & How of Respect >
It could be at a party, a rave or on spring break vacation… some girls lose their heads and lose control, making choices they live to regret. Help them by texting The What, Why & How of Moderation >
Let’s make sure our children are aware of the dangers of underage drinking. Let’s also make sure they know how to be assertive in case they feel peer pressure to have a shot or two. The What, Why & How of Assertiveness >
Let’s tell kids that cigarettes and pot stink! One way they can rise above the stench is by understanding the The What, Why & How of Cleanilness >
